Rooibos, pronounced 'roy-boss', is a naturally caffeine-free tea which is rich in antioxidants and very low in tannins. It is made from the leaves of the Aspalathus linearis shrub. Rooibos comes from the Afrikaans for 'red bush', which only grows in the Cederberg region and surrounding mountainous areas of the Western and Northern Cape provinces of South Africa.

How do you take yours?

Brew your Dawson's Rooibos tea for 5-7 minutes, until it turns a beautiful ruby red colour, to draw the maximum amount of antioxidants. The longer infusion will never taste bitter like black tea and only tastes better with a longer brew – I normally leave the teabag in! Rooibos can be enjoyed hot with or without milk, or cold over ice depending on the season. Rooibos even makes a great base for iced teas, smoothies or ice-pops. You could try your tea with honey, sugar or mix it up with some spices like cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, mint or vanilla – make it your way. And being caffeine free, it can be enjoyed at any time of the day or night without disrupting your sleep.
